Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: Renowned singer Geeta Dash has been honored with the prestigious "Margashira Mahak Samman 2024" by Soa ‘Creativo’ for her exceptional contributions to music.
The award ceremony, which took place this year, celebrated her voice, which beautifully brings to life the ‘Lakshmi Purana’ and ‘Jagannath Janana’ through devotional songs. Her presence at the event added a festive touch to the occasion.
Professor Santosh Kumar Rout, the Dean of IAS, presided over the ceremony, which was organized by Dr. Bhubanananda of Soa Creativo. Several notable figures, such as Professor Prabhat Kumar Sarangi, Dr. Deepali Dash, Dr. Bishnupriya Patra, Dr. Rakesh Satapathy, and others, praised the initiative to celebrate and uphold Odia traditions.
The event also organized Odia Speech, general knowledge, painting, and Jhoṭi competition, where the winners received accolades for their outstanding performances.
Dr. Nandita Jena expressed her gratitude, and the event was meticulously managed by a team of students, including Amrita Sahu, Chitralipi Nayak, and others. The festive occasion concluded with vibrant celebrations that highlighted the importance of nurturing Odisha's cultural values for future generations.
