Ganjam, Aug 2: Tampara lake in Ganjam has reopened for visitors on Monday. On the first day, a large number of visitors were seen enjoying group boating in the sweet water lake that was closed for the pandemic for almost a year. Acting on the permission of the government, Tampara lake authority allowed visitors today. However, roaming and boating around the lake are allowed under strict adherence to Corona guidelines. Tampara is a wetland close to National Highway No.5 (from Chhatrapur). It is popular for its gentle waves breaking on the shore and wide avenues for water sports.  One can also take a leisurely stroll through the vast stretches of cashew plantations along the shore. An exciting trek about 2 kms through the plantation leads tourists to the sandy beach of the Bay of Bengal.
