Bhubaneswar, August 23: In a swift and coordinated operation, Ganjam police successfully traced and rescued four schoolgirls who had been reported missing from their homes on Saturday. The girls, all students of Class 8 at a local school, were later reunited with their families, police said.
According to police sources, the incident came to light when the parents of the students lodged complaints after discovering their daughters were unaccounted for. The girls, who are classmates, reportedly left home together following an incident at their school earlier in the day.
Investigations revealed that the school’s headmaster had summoned the parents of one of the students to address a complaint lodged against her. Fearing reprimand, the group of friends decided to flee, leading to their sudden disappearance.
Police launched a search, mobilizing multiple teams to trace the minors. After several hours of effort, the girls were located and safely brought back.
