Ganjam, Jan 16: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) on Sunday seized a huge cache of ganja from Chhatrapur railway station in Ganjam district and arrested two persons in this connection.
The arrestees have been identified as Sanjay Mohapatra and Kalu Charan Behera, both residents of Purusottampur area in Ganjam.
According to reports, the duo was waiting for a train on platform number one of the Chhatrapur railway station to illegally transport the ganja to Surat.
On suspecting some foul play, the RPF personnel conducted a raid and seized 48.4 kilograms of ganja packed in five sacks from the possession of the accused.
The estimated worth of the seized contrabrand is said to be over Rs 4 lakh.
Further investigation in this regard is underway, said a RPF official.
