Ganja seized from passenger at Muniguda railway station

Muniguda, Aug 19: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel on Thursday seized ganja weighing around 25kg from a passenger at Muniguda Railway station in Rayagada district. According to reports, the accused was waiting for a train at the station in the morning possessing a bag containing the ganja. Acting on a tipoff, the GRP detained the person and found the ganja from him during the search. The accused was trying to smuggle the contraband outside the state. " The seized ganja was weighing around 25.7 kg. The criminals are increasingly trying to smuggle contraband, especially ganja, from the State to outside using long distance trains," said an official. The contraband ha been seized in the presence of a magistrate and accused ha been detained, he added.
