Ganja cultivation worth Rs 10 cr destroyed in Koraput

Koraput, Oct 22: Intensifying its crackdown on the cultivation and supply of illegal ganja, a joint team of the Padua police destroyed ganja cultivation on acres of lands in the Godiput forest of Koraput district. Acting on a tipoff, the Koraput police, Padua police, DVF, Excise department, and local magistrate conducted a crackdown in Godiput forest areas and destroyed the cultivation on 10 acres of land by setting the hemp plants on fire. The cost of ganja is worth around Rs 10 crore, officials informed. When asked Nandapur SDPO said, "We are conducting joint raids to destroy ganja plantations to stop ganja smuggling in the area. The operation has started today. This year, we target to complete the eradication of cannabis cultivation from Nandapur, Padua, and Lamtaput areas.”
