Bhubaneswar: The Holy Hindu festival of Ganesh Puja is being observed in schools and all educational institutions, business places and youth clubs across the State amid much religious fervour and jaunty today.
Students came to schools and other educational institutions in the morning with flowers, Prasad and new pens and pencils to offer to Lord Ganesh, who is also known as Bhubaneswar for pitying to save devotees from all kinds of dangers.
The puja is celebrated in big ways at Jatni and Talcher towns in the State. According to information, the Ganesh Puja is being observed at over 100 pandals at Jatni and at over 70 pandals at the coal town of Talcher in Angul district.
In Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, the festival is also observed amid much pomp. Bazaar committees observe the puja at their respective pandals. Nayapalli pandal has erected a 35-ft Ganesh idol, said reports.
Ganesh Puja is celebrated in almost all streets of the millennium city.
