Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: Mancheswar police today busted a gambling racket and arrested seven persons in this connection. Police have seized cash worth Rs 29000 from the accused. The accused have been identified as Praksah Pradhan(26), Rabindra Gauda (35), Ganesh Bahera (36), Rama Pradhan (35), Dasarathi Bisoi(35), Niranjan Patra (40) and S.Ajit Patra (36). Acting on tip-off, police raided Kalianagar near Pandra and found the accused playing with cards by placing bets. “The accused were further interrogated to ascertain the involvement of others in the racket. The accused have been forwarded to the court. We will also intensify our drive against illegal gambling,” said a police official.
