Bhubaneswar, Feb 23: Legislators of the opposition Congress on Tuesday reached the Odisha Assembly on bicycles as a mark of protest against the rise in fuel prices.
Congress MLAs including Sura Routray and Tara Prasad Bahinipati rode bicycles to the Assembly.
Speaking to media persons Bahinipati said that the diesel and petrol prices are being hiked to harass common man. “Our party will seek answer from the government in the House regarding the fuel price hike,” he added.
Similarly, Jatani MLA Routray said, If West Bengal and Chhattisgarh have relaxed tax on petrol and diesel prices, why the Odisha government led by Naveen Patnaik is not reducing fuel tax ?
