Berhampur, Sept 1: A 91-member delegation of artists from Ganjam district has reached New Delhi following an invitation from Rashtrapati Bhavan. The delegation, led by Ganjam District Collector V. Keerthi Vasan, is scheduled to meet President Droupadi Murmu for a courtesy interaction on Tuesday morning.
The delegation includes District Tourism Officer Partha Sarathi Hansda, District Culture Officer Aditi Acharya and Chhatrapur Additional Tahsildar Manoj Pradhan, along with artists from five tribal dance groups.
The invitation follows President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Taptapani in Ganjam district on August 4. During her visit, the President appreciated the district’s diverse folk dances and traditional art forms and invited the artists to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The artists’ visit to New Delhi has generated considerable enthusiasm across Ganjam, with the delegation expected to showcase the district’s rich folk and tribal cultural heritage.
