Puri, August 30: Devotees of Lord Jagannath are being targeted by fraudulent online advertisements promising Prasad, Nirmalya, and Shukila Bhog in connection with the Lord’s worship. These deceptive ads, appearing through an app called 'Puja Pariseba,' offer various types of pujas at different prices, luring unsuspecting worshippers into financial scams.
Senior servitors at the Srimandir have raised alarms over these activities, emphasizing that there is no provision for such online services at the temple. They have strongly condemned the exploitation of devotees for financial gain.
In response to the growing concern, Puri's District Administration and the Police Department have called for immediate action against these fraudulent entities. Puri SP Prateek Singh stated that the police are treating the matter with utmost seriousness, and a comprehensive investigation will be conducted with the help of cyber experts.
"We have come across multiple fake websites promoting these services," SP Singh remarked. "Our priority is to investigate and take strict legal action against those responsible."
Authorities have also advised the public to be cautious and avoid engaging with any suspicious online platforms offering temple-related services.
