Balasore, June 20: Four persons were hospitalised after allegedly consuming contaminated food at a Aluminium Project factory in Odisha's Balasore district.

According to reports, the affected workers are natives of Gunakhal village under Kalyansinghpur block of Rayagada district and were employed at the industrial unit. The incident occurred after they ate a meal prepared at the factory mess.

The workers reportedly noticed insects in the food while eating and immediately stopped consuming it, discarding the remaining portion. However, after returning to their rooms and resting for some time, all four began experiencing severe stomach pain and discomfort.

As their condition worsened, they informed the mess manager, who arranged for their transportation to Nilgiri Hospital. The four workers are currently undergoing treatment.

The incident has raised concerns over food quality and hygiene standards at the factory mess.

Further details are awaited.
