Four Odia women hockey stars wrestle hard for the Tokyo Olympics

Bhubaneswar, June 5: The Four Odia members of the Indian Women's Hockey Team are stumping high to pave their way for the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. In order to be one among the Team India, the hockey laurels of Odisha are wrestling hard at the training centre of Sports Authority of India (SAI) Bengaluru to be shortlisted among the 33 member team for the global contest. With less than 50 days for the Tokyo Games, there is a lot of excitement among the Odia hockey stars Namita Toppo, Lilima Minj, Deep Grace Ekka and Rasmita Minz to represent India with their talent. They are continuing their regular warm up, fitness drill and rigorous practice in order to place them as an indispensable part of the probable team. They have been training for the upcoming Olympics in such a manner that their biological clock is already set to the International standard time of Tokyo, said senior mid-fielder Namita Toppo. ‘The weather of Tokyo,Japan is surly challenging for us. However, we will try out the best to achieve our goals if fortunately selected for it. It’s why, we have to play a lot of internal matches to build up stamina for the international challenge’, she added.
