Berhampur, Sept 29: In a major crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, the Gosainnuagaon police arrested four individuals and seized over 30.54 kilograms of cannabis, six mobile phones, and Rs 2,870 in cash during a late evening raid on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off during routine Durga Puja patrols, police raided Room No. 103 of Mamata Guest House, located in the Station Road area. Authorities had received credible information that the suspects were in possession of a large quantity of contraband and were preparing to move it out.

With concerns that the accused might escape with the cannabis, a swift operation was carried out. Police successfully apprehended all four suspects on the spot and confiscated the illegal items.

Berhampur Superintendent of Police confirmed the seizure and arrests, stating that further investigation is underway to uncover the broader network involved in the smuggling operation.
