Four arrested in SI exam scam, Sent to jail

Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: In a major development in the Odisha SI recruitment scam, four accused- Muna Mohanty, Srikanta Maharana, T. Abhimanyu, and Priyadarshini Samal-were produced before the Brahmapur JMFC Rural Court and sent to Brahmapur Circle Jail after their bail pleas were rejected.

According to the Crime Branch, mastermind Shankar Prusty operated the scam from Delhi, with key aides Muna Mohanty and Aravinda Das executing the plan on the ground. Two training modules for candidates were set up in Visakhapatnam and Digha, where hotel rooms were booked and candidates trained to cheat the exam system.

Muna Mohanty was arrested from a farm house in Dashapalla along with associates Soumya Priyadarshini, Sukanta Maharana, and farm house owner Abhimanyu Dora. Several vehicles used in the operation were also seized.

So far, 121 arrests have been made in the case. The Crime Branch is continuing efforts to nab the absconding mastermind, Shankar Prusty. Authorities have urged candidates to avoid such scams and cooperate with the investigation.
