Balasore, August 13: A month after the self-immolation of an FM College student, the Crime Branch has intensified its investigation. On Tuesday, a six-member team led by IO Iman Kalyan Nayak interrogated ABVP leaders Jyotiprakash Bishwal and Subhrasambit Nayak inside jail for two hours. Crime Branch SP Aniruddha Rautray also joined the session.
Sources say the questioning focused on key issues—where the student procured petrol, who was present at the scene, and whether the duo incited her. Their responses have reportedly provided vital leads.
Meanwhile, the Crime Branch has sought a 3-day remand, which the court has allowed to be conducted within the jail. The team, maintaining media silence, had earlier arrested Jyotiprakash and Subhrasambit from Dublagadi (Sadar Block) and Chudamani (Bhadrak) respectively. HOD Sameer Kumar Sahu and President Dillip Kumar Ghosh had also been arrested earlier in the case.
