Flood fear in Jaleswar as Jalaka flows above danger level

Bhubaneswar: People in Balasore district’s Jaleswar area are in a state of fear as a flood-like situation has emerged due to swelling of the Jalaka River.
According to reports, the Jalaka river is now flowing above danger levels at different places. It is flowing at 6.55 metre at Basta Mathani against danger level of 5.50 metre there.
Now, floodwater has submerged acres of land and low-lying areas in the catchment areas of the river. The water level is rising 0.10 metre every hour.
