Five members of robber's gang arrested in Cuttack, 220 grams gold seized

Cuttack, Oct 16: Choudwar police today arrested five members including a couple for series of burglary and robbery cases in Cuttack and its adjoining areas. Police have seized 220 gram gold, 237 gram silver and two motorcycles from the accused. The accused have been identified as Harihar Samal (35), his wife Mami Samal (28), Suryakanta Rout (27), Satrughna Sahu (42) and Trolochan Sahu (43). Police said that the gang used to assault the victims during robbery. “The principal accused Harihar is a hardcore criminal and was injured in an encounter with the police in Bhubaneswar few years ago. The gang was also involved in similar crimes in Dhenkanal, Angul and Jagatsinghpur, Further investigation in the case is continuing,” said a police official.
