500km Range And Modern Tech Define Brand's First Electric SUV
India’s most trusted car manufacturer is finally taking its biggest leap into the future. Today marks a historic moment for the auto industry as Maruti Suzuki officially announces the price for its first-ever fully electric vehicle, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara. After dazzling crowds at the Bharat Mobility Auto Expo 2025, the wait is over for potential buyers across the country, including those eagerly visiting showrooms in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
Industry experts anticipate the pricing will fall between Rs 18 lakh and Rs 25 lakh. This aggressive positioning places the electric SUV as a direct competitor to existing mid-size EVs, aiming to capture the growing family market that demands both efficiency and reliability.
Premium Interiors and Modern Design
Stepping inside the e-Vitara reveals a cabin that feels significantly more upscale than previous Maruti models. The company has focused on a "high-tech" experience, featuring a twin-deck floating console. Drivers are greeted by a 10.25-inch digital display and a matching infotainment screen. The interior ambience is lifted by soft-touch materials, multi-colour lighting, and a panoramic feeling provided by the fixed-glass sunroof.
For families, the space is practical. The vehicle sits on a 2,700mm wheelbase, ensuring ample legroom. The rear seats offer a flexible 40:20:40 split, allowing passengers to recline or fold seats for extra cargo—perfect for long drives across Odisha.
Battery Power and Range
Maruti has engineered this EV with two battery choices to suit different needs. A 49kWh battery pack powers the standard version, delivering 144hp for city commuting. However, the highlight is the larger 61kWh battery. This robust option produces 174bhp and claims a driving range exceeding 543km on a single charge. This effectively addresses "range anxiety" for buyers planning trips from Bhubaneswar to Puri or Rourkela.
Safety First
Safety remains a top priority with the e-Vitara. Built with high-tensile steel, the SUV comes standard with seven airbags and all-disc brakes. It also introduces Level 2 ADAS technology, offering smart features like adaptive cruise control and emergency braking to keep passengers safe on busy highways.
With its competitive specs and trusted brand heritage, the Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is poised to electrify Indian roads starting today.
