Bhubaneswar: Finally, a villager, who had been making firecrackers in his house secretly without a licence, became a victim of cracker explosion and died in Nayagarh district.
According to reports, the incident has occurred at Kharudasahi village under the Sharankula police limits in the district. The deceased was identified as Akhila Sethi. His wife has also been injured critically.
Akhila had been making crackers illegally in his housed and he had also engaged his wife in the dangerous work. Due to some reason, the crackers came in contact with blaze last night and exploded. The intensity of the explosion was such that a part of the house was blown off. While Akhila died on the spot, his wife sustained critical burn injuries.
Meanwhile, police said that they didn’t know about making of firecrackers in Akhila’s family. After the incident, they have started investigation.
According to locals, another such mishap had occurred in Akhila’s house a year ago when Akhila was critically injured.
