Kesinga, Feb 26: A number of seized vehicles turned into ashes in the premises of Kesinga Police Station in Odisha’s Kalahandi district on Thursday.

If the reason behind the mishap is yet under investigation, the dry leaves, shed from the teak plants aggravated the flame, said sources.

According to reports, a number of vehicles that was intercepted or seized by the police in connection with accidents and crimes were piled in the Kesinga Police Station premises. All of a sudden, a fire broke out in the afternoon spreading panic for the nearby people.

On being informed, fire services team rushed to the spot and began dousing operation. However, no vehicles could be prevented from the fire for the excessive dry leaves hoarded at the unapproved dumping yard.

The Kesinga Police have never commented on the incident so far.
