New Delhi, 28/12: Noted Odia film maker and actor Prasanta Nanda's book on Odia film industry was released with the author presenting the first copy to Vice President Venkaiah Naidu. The book in Odia titled as "Chalachitra Purana" (Chronicle of Odia Film) contains several unexplored facts of Odia film industry from 1936 up to 2014. Writing about the direction in which Odia film industry is moving, Nanda has explained the reason why the Odia films are not being successful. "The Odia film industry is at present passing through crisis. However, there is hope that Odia film industry will rise again". said the author. Apart from being a house hold name in Odisha as a film actor and director, Nanda has been a successful political and literary figure. He is at present a Rajya Sabha member and has written a novel in English titled as "Kharavela, the warrior", which has given a historical account of Emperor Kharavela and his rule. Another English book "The Quest" has been penned by Nanda. All these books written by the film maker-turned-politician have been dedicated to the Nation.
