Bhubaneswar, April 17: The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) urged to avoid partial or complete lockdown in Odisha. The Chairman, FICCI Uday Shankar has written a letter to the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in this regard on Saturday. The letter reads, the second wave of Corona in the country is undoubtedly coming with a bigger threat for the nation. The sudden surge of Covid-19 infection has put lives and livelihood at stake. In this conjunct, FICCI has got every concern and moral support to fight against the pandemic. However, the FICCI has proposed the State Government not to go for partial and complete lockdown in the coming days, since lockdown will bitterly hamper the state economy putting livelihood of human resources in jeopardy. On the other hand, FICCI has appealed the government to intensify mass sensitization programmes and enforce Corona protocols throughout the state. Apart from it, FICCI laid some proposals to enhance the domain of test and vaccination through PPP mode. It proposed to involve Residents Welfare Associations (RWA) in the mass vaccination drive to yield more response.
