Nabrangpur, Aug 31:Enraged over scarcity of fertilizer, farmers demonstrated in Nabrangpur on Tuesday. Hundreds of farmers blocked the Kotapad-Chhattisgarh NH for a long time demanding solutions to the fertilizer problem. Sources said the farmers of the Kasagumuda area faced a lot of problems in getting fertilizers. They did not get a sufficient quantity of fertilizers for paddy and other crops due to the shortfall of bulk supply. As a result, they were extracted by the black marketers. On the other hand, the administration did not address the problem despite a number of public representation. Reacting to it, a score of farmers gheraoed the Kasagumuda LAMPS and took to the roadblock. Consequently, vehicular movements along the NH were affected and hundreds of heavy vehicles were detained enroute.
