‘Fani’ makes landfall in Puri, process to continue for 3 hrs

Bhubaneswar: Finally, the process of landfall of the Cyclone ‘ Fani’ has started with a wind blow of 175 km per hour near Puri and  is likely to continue for three hours.

The speed of the wind blow is likely to cross 200 km per hour, according to the IMD predictions.

Wind is also blowing at a very high speed at Krushnaprasad, Satapada and Astaranga in Puri district.

Several trees have been uprooted in these places. People living in low-lying areas have already been shifted.

The situation in the capital city of Bhubaneswar has also worsened with the speed of wind blow rising gradually. Trees have been uprooted at some places. Similarly, hoardings have been blown off at different places.

Continued rains have caused water stagnation across the city.

Rains have also lashed Khurda, Jankia and Tangi areas.
