CHHATRAPATI SAMBHAJINAGAR, August 19: CJP convenor Abhijeet Dipke on Wednesday hit back at those who have labelled agitators as anti-national, anarchist and violent, saying the support of Mahatma Gandhi’s family was the strongest affirmation of their commitment to patriotism and non-violence.
Dipke made the remarks after Mahatma Gandhi’s great-grandson, Tushar Gandhi, met him at his residence in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra.
“It is a matter of pride that the family of Mahatma Gandhi is standing with us. During the agitation, we were called anti-national, anarchist and violent. But Tushar Gandhi is standing with us today, which is the biggest certificate that we are peace-loving, non-violent and patriots,” Dipke said.
He added that Tushar Gandhi’s support should serve as a response to those who had levelled such allegations against the agitators.
“I hope those who made allegations against us have got a reply today,” Dipke said.
