Excise Dept receives 19,416 applications for liquor shops through lottery

Bhubaneswar, April 2: Under the 5T action plan of Excise Department, liquor shop license is being provided through lottery in Odisha. The state government has invited applications on fixed monthly consideration money basis to settle all existing sanctioned IMFL ‘Off’ and Country Liquor shops for 2021-22 onwards. The last date to submit application through the Excise Department portal is April 3. By April 2, the Excise Department has received 19,416 applications, As many as 18,530 applications for IMFL ‘Off’ shop and 886 for Country Liquor shop. License once granted will continue for five years including year of grant unless otherwise directed by the state government.
