Kolkata, Sep 29: Former Goa Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro, who resigned from Congress, today joined the Trinamool Congress in Kolkata.
Faleiro and other senior leaders joined the party in the presence of senior TMC leader Abhishek Banerjee in party’s headquarter in Kolkata.
“Today, when I am joining TMC, my dream is to bring the Congress family together. My main mission behind joining TMC is to defeat BJP & its divisive policies, culture of hatred & vengeance. India is totally on economic meltdown,” Luizinho said.
Former Goa CM Faleiro on Monday resigned as member of the Legislative Assembly. Faleiro said the country needed a leader like West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee to take on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Recently, Abhishek, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s nephew, announced that the Trinamool will be in Goa soon. The party’s Derek O’Brien is already there along with colleague Prasun Banerjee. This flurry of activity comes as the coastal state heads for Assembly polls next year.
