Bhubaneswar, Aug 24: Former Chief Justice of India Gopal Ballav Patnaik has been inducted into the selection committee responsible for appointing the Odisha Lokayukta.

The General Administration and Public Grievance Department, in an official notification, said Justice Patnaik’s nomination as a member was made on the recommendation of the chairperson and other members of the selection committee.

His appointment has been made under Section 4(1)(e) of the Odisha Lokayukta Act, 2014 (Odisha Act of 2018).

Justice Patnaik, who was the 32nd Chief Justice of India, will now serve on the panel overseeing the selection of the Lokayukta in Odisha.
