New Delhi, June 30: England have announced their playing XI for the rescheduled fifth Test against India at Edgbaston which will begin tomorrow. James Anderson has been declared fit for the Test while Sam Billings will don the gloves behind the stumps for England in the absence of Ben Foakes. Foakes was in a race against time to be fit for the Test after testing positive for Covid-19 in the middle of the third Test against New Zealand in Headingley. Earlier, the All-India Senior Selection Committee has named Jasprit Bumrah as captain for the upcoming Test against England and Rishab Pant as his deputy. Rohit Sharma, Captain, Indian Cricket Team is ruled out of the rescheduled fifth Test against England to be played from Friday. Rohit underwent a RAT Test on Thursday morning and returned a positive result for COVID-19. England Playing XI: Alex Lees, Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Ben Stokes (c), Sam Billings (w), Matthew Potts, Stuart Broad, Jack Leach, James Anderson.
