Dhenkanal, April 8: With inputs regarding illegal sex determination & termination of female fetus, an enforcement team of the Health & Family Welfare Department on Tuesday conducted a raid on a Dhenkanal-based hospital & Nursing Home.
During the raid, the team headed by the Joint Director Health & State Nodal Officer, in presence of district administration and magistrate, sealed the Ultrasound unit that was allegedly used for sex determination.
According to the reports, the nodal enforcement squad led by Dr. Prativa Pradhan conducted the raid on the Shrikrishna Hospital & Nursing Home at the Sasan Square in the Dhenkanal Town. During the inventory, the team discovered a portable ultrasound which has already been banned by the health department from long past. Apart from, it the enforcement team seized some files and documents related to ultrasound.
The ultrasound unit was sealed and the documents were taken to the district admin’s custody. Stern actions will be initiated against the hospital authorities if something foul will be revealed from the documents, said State Nodal Officer Dr.Prativa Pradhan.
