Bhubaneswar, Aug 8: In a bid to ensure a safe and inclusive work environment, the Energy Department on Thursday conducted a training-cum-awareness programme on “Sexual Harassment at Workplace” for its senior officials and staff at Kharavel Bhavan.
The session was conducted by Prof. P. Yasodhara, a member of the Internal Complaint Committee (ICC), who shared insights on workplace safety, relevant legal frameworks, and available mechanisms for redressal. The interactive event also included a Q&A segment, allowing employees to raise concerns and discuss real-life workplace scenarios related to conduct and harassment.
Officials stated that the initiative reflects the department’s ongoing commitment to promoting awareness, safeguarding dignity, and ensuring a respectful and equitable environment for all. They emphasised the importance of such sensitisation programmes in keeping the workforce informed, empowered, and protected under the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) guidelines.
