Bhubaneswar: A herd of elephants has damaged standing crops at Bhusandpur under Tangi in Khurda district today.
The wild jumbos sneaked into the human habitation in search of food and went on rampage on ten acres of land in Bhusandpur.
The farmers alleged that their repeated complaints to drive away the pachyderms have fallen into the deaf ears of the forest department.
The affected villagers demanded compensation for their crop loss.
