Elephant killed by speeding train in Odisha

Sambalpur, Dec 5: An elephant was killed after being hit by Bhubaneswar-Rourkela Intercity Express near Kargadbahal village between Jujumura and Hatibari area of Sambalpur.
Locals said that the train hit the elephant while it was crossing the railway track. Forest officials along with Railway officials have reached the spot and have started an investigation into the incident.
Earlier on November 27 as many as 24 buffaloes were killed and two others sustained critical injuries when they were hit by the same train near the Joranda Road railway station in Dhenkanal district.
