Electrification between Khurda Road and Nayagarh Town completed

Bhubaneswar, Mar 30: Railway electrification work between Khurda Road and Nayagarh Town of ongoing Khurda Road-Balangir railway line project has been completed. Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS), South Eastern Circle/Kolkata under the Ministry of Civil Aviation A. M. Choudhary inspected the 66 kms stretch electrification work between Khurda Road and Nayagarh Town in presence of Principal Chief Electrical Engineer (PCEE) of East Coast Railway B. P. Panda, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Khurda Road S. K. Singh and Chief Project Director (CPD) of Railway Electrification (RE) K. Nagendra Prasad on Moonday. On the trial run by the CRS, the CRS special train has been hauled by electric engine from Nayagarh Town to Khurda Road with section speed of 80Kmph. Around Rs 60 crores will be spent for the electrification project. The railwayeElectrification work from Nayagarh Town to Mahipur also to be completed soon.
