Elderly man attempts self-immolation before police station in Cuttack

Cuttack, June 23: An elderly man has attempted self- immolation before the Kisan Nagar police station in Cuttack on Thursday. The man identified as Gunanidhi Bisoi has been hospitalized after he sustained critical burn injuries through out his body. Sources said that Bisoi had lodged complaints with the Kisan Nagar police regarding his land dispute. However, he got no relief from the police despite he ran from post to pillar for months together. Following this, he took the extreme step and set himself to fire before the police station today. As a result, most of his body parts caught severe burn injuries. He was immediately rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for resuscitation. Subsequently, he was admitted into the burn ward.
