Bhubaneswar, August 10: Ekamra Kshetra turned vibrant with devotion on the second Monday of the holy month of Shravan, as thousands of Kanwariyas arrived at the Lingaraj Temple to offer holy water to Lord Mahadev.
Long queues of devotees were seen outside the temple from the early hours of the morning. Carrying kanwars filled with sacred water on their shoulders, many Kanwariyas walked barefoot for long distances, chanting the name of Lord Shiva as they made their way to the temple.
For the devotees, the journey is a test of faith and endurance. Despite fatigue, blisters and the hardships of walking long distances, the Kanwariyas remained determined to reach the temple and fulfil their vow of offering holy water to Baba Lingaraj.
The temple premises echoed with chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Bol Bam” as devotees immersed themselves in prayer and worship. The steady influx of Kanwariyas has brought the entire Ekamra Kshetra alive with a deeply spiritual atmosphere.
For the devotees, there is only one resolve—to offer the sacred water at the feet of Baba Lingaraj and seek the blessings of Lord Mahadev. Their unwavering faith and devotion continue to define the spirit of Shravan Mondays at Ekamra Kshetra.
