Rohtak, Jul 17: An earthquake of magnitude 3.3 struck Rohtak district in Haryana early today, as reported by the National Centre for Seismology (NCS).
The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, at 00:46 IST. The exact coordinates of the tremor were 28.88°N latitude and 76.76°E longitude.
Earlier this month, on July 11, residents of Delhi-NCR also felt mild tremors from a 3.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Haryana’s Jhajjar district. This followed a stronger 4.4 magnitude quake in the same area, just one day before.
The tremors on July 11 were felt across Delhi and nearby regions, causing a mix of reactions from the public. Some expressed concern, with comments like, “We will pray to God to bless us,” while others appeared more fearless, saying, “I don’t fear death,” as the region continues to experience occasional tremors.
The NCS continues to monitor the situation, though no major damage or casualties have been reported from either quake.
