Bhadrak, Nov 13: A dreaded criminal was injured in police encounter near Chadheya under Bhadrak rural police limits today. The criminal identified as Bapi Pani has been admitted to a hospital with bullet injuries on both his legs.

Acting on tip off, police raided the hideout of Pani while he was preparing to commit a dacoity. However, Pani opened fire at the raiding team following which police opened fire at him.

Three policemen have sustained injuries in the encounter and they have also been rushed to the nearest hospital. Police said that Pani was involved in series of crimes including robbery and dacoity in Bhadrak and adjoining areas.
