Balasore, Sep 25: The Crime Branch of Odisha Police today said that that the female operative in Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) espionage case had promised to visit the Chandipur residence of one of the arrested accused.
The suspected female operative had given marriage proposals to two of the arrested accused and promised to visit house of another accused located in Chandipur.
“She used a UK number to chat with the accused through Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. She used to talk Hindi and also made video calls to two accused,” Additional Director General of Police (Crime Branch) Sanjeeb Panda informed.
“The suspect woman had created seven profiles on Facebook by posting different pictures and identities and contacted the five accused persons,” Panda said.
The CB had taken the five accused on a seven-day remand for further interrogation and produced them in a court on Friday after their remand period ended.
