Padmapur, May 3: In a shocking incident, some unidentified miscreants allegedly hacked to death the husband and father-in-law of the Likitipadar panchayat sarpanch in Sarigada village under Padmapur block of Odisha’s Rayagada district.
The victims have been identified as Agadhu Gamang, husband of the sarpanch, and his father, Suma Gamang.
Sources said, a group of assailants forcibly entered the sarpanch's house and started arguing with Agadhu and Suma in her presence. The altercation turned violent as the miscreants attacked with sharp weapons. While the sarpanch managed to flee for her life. The bodies of the father-son duo lay in the courtyard.
Being informed, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Gunupur and officials from the Padmapur police station rushed to the spot. The bodies were sent for post-mortem, and started investigation intlo the matter.
