Don’t crowd fuel stations, fuel supply normal in Odisha: IOCL CGM

Bhubaneswar, May 15: Amid panic buying and long queues at fuel stations across the state, IOCL CGM Kamal Sil on Friday assured that there is no shortage of petrol or diesel in Odisha. He appealed to people not to panic or crowd at filling stations, stating that adequate fuel stock is available across the state.

Addressing the media, Sil said all major oil companies, including IOCL, HPC, BPC, Reliance and Nayara, have sufficient reserves of petrol and diesel. He clarified that a few fuel stations have remained closed due to reasons unrelated to fuel shortage.

He further informed that district-wise monitoring is being carried out regularly and every district is maintaining fuel stock for three to four days. “People should not hoard fuel or create long queues on roads. Fuel will be supplied to all filling stations as per demand,” he said.

Sil also revealed that fuel sales in the state have increased by nearly 30 percent over the last two days due to panic buying.
