Dola Purnima being observed across Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Mar 28: The holy Dola festival of Lord Radhakrishna is being observed amid much religious fervour and serenity across Odisha today.
Wooden Bimans (palanquins), called Dolas, carrying idols of Radhakrishna move to devotees’ houses on the occasion. Shankirtana, (devotional song presented with a unique way with beating of Mridanga and cymbals. Abhira, a colour powder, is used by villagers on this occasion.
Dola Melana promotes brotherhood among villages. Known as a mass festival, the Dola Purnina falls a day before the Holi festival.
