Bhubaneswar: Diwali 2024 is only 48 hours away. This is the glitziest festival of India that honours light and bursting of the joy via crackers. This has been a festival of light and sound – the Deepam (earthen lamps) and the fire works or fire crackers.
With the passing days and age, the festival of light and sound slowly turned into a day where the Mother Nature is smeared with smoke of pollutants. In order to burst their joy out, denizens started bursting cracker that emanates double 'S' – Sound and Smoke.
When reached to such a pass, the Council for Scientific Industrial Research and NEERI (National Environment Engineering Research Institute) have brought in the concept of Green Crackers in India. To which even the country Apex Court, Supreme Court of India, has ordered in 2018 to ban all conventional crackers and allowed sale and manufacture of only Green crackers in the country. Many states have banned normal crackers, they allowed sale of green crackers only. Here is the list given below.

* Odisha
* Bihar
* Punjab
* Haryana
* Kerala
*Tamil Nadu
