Balasore, June 27: A divyang man carries his daughter to school on his tricycle due to acute poverty. He has been carrying his daughter so far, from her Class-I, standing her on the backside bars of the tricycle. Such a sorry picture of poverty has come to the fore in Balasore town which has currently stormed the social media. Sources said that Gajendra Pradhan, a native of Patrapada residential area in Balasore town is an orthopedically disable from his birth. Gajendra used to carry his daughter Niladri Tanaya on his tricycle to Sri Aurobinda Integral School which is over 4 Kilometre away from home. It’s due to his economic crisis. Pradhan has no permanent source of income. At the same time, he is unable to earn something from the insufficient farmland inherited from the parents, due to his physical inability. However, Pradhan’s wife hardly manages the family expenses who works as a private security guard in the hospital. With an insufficient fund, the family faces a lot of difficulties to groom the 8-year daughter educationally who studies in Class-III in a private school. They can manage the school fees getting it borrowed from the friends and relatives whereas the conveyance goes beyond their capacity as a school bus or an individual auto cost more than one thousand rupees per month to carry the girl to school. Getting no way out, Pradhan escorts his daughter to her school, keeping her standing on his tricycle bars, which was offered to him by a social outfit. According to some locals, Pradhan who is absolutely incapable to stand and move, carries the teen girl from the Class-I and continues his struggle to educate his only girl, so far. However, it’s a tiring and hazardous journey for the father and the daughter duo, as the tricycle has gone corroded and worn out completely. On the other hand, scores of viewers have requested the district administration through social media to address the call of the family, after visualizing the miserable father and his trudging endeavour for his daughter's formal education.
