Dist admin opposes illegal construction by Andhra Pradesh in Rayagada

Rayagada, Feb 18: Rayagada district administration has opposed illegal construction undertaken by Andhra Pradesh in Rayagada district. Neighbouring Andhra Pradesh is constructing a new road and a bridge near Sanalukuti under Bairagihalua block limit in Rayagada district. Being alerted by locals, the district administration interfered into the illegal construction of Andhra.A team visited the spot and opposed the construction following which the executing agency stopped further construction. Kotia is a part and parcel of Odisha : Sudam Marndi Kotia is a part and parcel of Odisha, asserted Revenue and Disaster Management Minister of Odisha, Sudam Marndi. Speaking to reporters on Kotia border dispute, Marndi asserted that Kotia has been an indispensible part of Odisha since the very day of formation of Independent Odisha. It is now under our province and will be in our possession in the future. The area was never in the possession of neighbouring Andhra. Thus, in no case Odisha will spare this piece of land to Andhra Pradesh, added Marndi. On the Andhra sponsored election process, Marndi said it’s a contempt of court and illegal interference of Andhra. The case is sub-judice in the court of law., he said
