DIG Central Range reviews security arrangements for Gajalaxmi Puja in Odisha’s Kendrapara

Kendrapara, October 11: DIG Central Range, Dr. Satyajit Naik, on Saturday visited Kendrapara to assess the police preparations for the upcoming Gajalaxmi Puja celebrations. His visit aimed to ensure robust security arrangements and smooth conduct of the festive events.

During his inspection, the DIG conducted foot patrols across key areas of the town and engaged in on-the-spot briefings with police personnel stationed at various duty points. He highlighted the importance of vigilance, discipline, and a people-centric approach to policing during the festive season, emphasizing that these efforts are crucial to maintaining peace and harmony.

A key moment of the visit was the inauguration of the newly established Command and Control Centre. This advanced facility is equipped with 32 AI-powered CCTV cameras, incorporating face detection and crowd heat mapping technology. These features will allow for real-time monitoring of crowd movements, traffic, and public gatherings, ensuring swift action in case of emergencies.

The DIG also visited several Medhas (pandals), where he met with the Secretaries and Presidents of various Puja Committees. He appealed to them to work closely with the police to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of all participants during the Gajalaxmi Puja celebrations.

Dr. Naik commended the Kendrapara Police for their proactive planning and coordination under the leadership of SP Shri Siddharth Kataria. He praised their thorough preparations aimed at safeguarding the public during the festive days.

In his message to the public, DIG Shri Naik urged, “Festivals are a time for faith and unity. I encourage all citizens and Puja Committees to celebrate responsibly, collaborate with the police, and uphold the tradition of peace and brotherhood that Kendrapara is known for.”
