Bhubaneswar: Hours after Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik accused the Centre of not releasing Rs 6,400 crore due to the State while only one month remains for the financial year to end, Union Minister and senior BJP leader Dharmendra Pradhan today lashed out at the former saying the State is demanding money without submitting utilization certificates (UC).
The Union Minister also said that the Chief Secretary should consult him if Odisha has not received central funds even after submitting UC.
“I will do my best to ensure funds for Odisha if it submits UCs,” said Pradhan stated through in social media.
“Can any central fund be sanctioned without State’s utilisation certificate,” Pradhan wanted to know.
Earlier in the day today, Chief Minister Patnaik after reviewing the Central projects at Odisha Bhawan in New Delhi said that the Central Government is yet to release Rs 6,400-crore to Odisha due to the State while only a month remains for the current financial year to end.
Patnaik said, “Hardly one month left out for the financial year to end. About Rs 4,000 crore is yet to be released by the Government of India to the State.”
