New Delhi, Sept 11: In a significant step toward empowering persons with disabilities, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan alongside Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev released a value-based book titled ‘Special Educational Needs and Inclusive Education’ at the India International Centre in New Delhi.
The book has been authored by Dr. Premananda Mishra and Dr. K. Srinivas Reddy, both esteemed educators from the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Visual Disabilities (Divyangjan), Dehradun,
The book addresses the essential need for special educational systems tailored to the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. It emphasizes that persons with disabilities, just like their able-bodied counterparts, play a crucial role in the nation’s development.
By providing education that caters to their specific needs, they can be equipped with the skills necessary to integrate into mainstream society, fostering greater inclusion and empowerment.
The book, which is the 14th publication by the authors, outlines innovative approaches to special education. It provides invaluable insights for teachers, students, and parents alike, helping to bridge the gap in understanding and resources for those working in the field of special education.
The book's focus on independent and specialized educational methodologies makes it a vital resource for those aiming to create more inclusive educational environments.
This latest work has received widespread appreciation, especially in a field where published literature is relatively scarce.
The book has been published by Neelkamal Publishers, Hyderabad, and edited by Professor Amitabh Mishra, Director of IGNOU, New Delhi.
The event also witnessed the presence of other dignitaries, including Er. Sangram Dhar, Sri Ramchandra Nath, journalist Madhusudan Mishra, and Sri Jitendra Tripathi.
