Dharmendra meets Cabinet Secretary over cyclone Fani

Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today met the Cabinet Secretary PK Sinha in New Delhi and held discussion on the preparedness for the impending cyclonic storm Fani. “All assistance will be provided to Odisha to tackle Cyclone Fani. Arrangements will be made for State's demand for two helicopters,” said Pradhan, who hails from Odisha, after meeting with the Cabinet Secretary. As per the latest IMD bulletin, Cyclone Fani is expected to make landfall at Balukhanda near Puri coast on May 3 after noon with a wind speed of 175kmph and gusts of 205kmph. After landfall, the cyclone would pass through Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj before moving to West Bengal. Pradhan also spoke to the Cabinet Secretary about the preparedness of the impending cyclone Fani and suggested for adequate measures especially in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Cuttack to minimise the damages from cyclone Fani in Odisha.
